I need a local dive bar for a location for the no-budget noir flick I'm making. The film is set in 1947, so while I'm not being a nazi for historical accuracy, I can't use uber-modern places. The mood I'm going for is sleazy run down dive -- a local watering hole, not a high class place. The action follows someone as they come in through the front door, walk directly to the bar, take a stool and order a drink, and have a conversation with the bartender and another patron.

Features of the ideal place:
*Small, dark place
*Interesting bar and back bar
*Interesting entryway, both interior and exterior
*Pool table a big plus

Deal breakers:
*Too many TVs/ TVs in prominent areas that can not be shot around.
*Modern bar fixtures like video games/microwave ovens
*CD jukebox in a prominent area that can not be shot around
*Neon signs or other promotional materials that are clearly modern and can not be temporarily covered or removed
*Distinctly Modern decor that can not be covered, removed or shot around.

I'm hoping to find a place in San Francisco, but for the *perfect* place I would be willing to go father afield.

If you know of such a place, please, please, please drop me a line here or email me at noir@strafe.com
